SCAM ????!!! CLOSER TO FRAUD. $250.00 CARD WAS FLAGGED AND FROZEN BEFORE IT WAS BOUGHT AND ACTIVATED AT SHOPPERS DRUG MART. VISA CAN SEE THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE BEFORE IT WAS LOADED AND THAT THERE IS $250.00 ON THE CARD BUT CAN NOT/WONT ACTIVATE IT OR REFUND IT. NOT A BAD GIG JUST COLLECT THE MONEY ON DISABLED CARDS.

My grandmother got me a $25 Vanilla Visa gift card for Christmas this year. She didn’t notice that $3.95 is deducted from the total, so it was really a $21.05 gift card.

That is a 15.8% charge just for using the card. Imagine if your bank or a real credit card charged a 15.8% “usage fee” just to spend your own money.

What a scam. Thanks for ripping off my grandma!

I have purchased a $450 gift card (vanilla visa card) the card did not work, so I called the 1 (800) number. They said they will send me a new one. It’s been 45 days. Yes 45 days. I’ve called several times, and every time they tell me a different story. They are crooks scamm. I will not stop, save your receipt and complaint to the FDIC they regulates the Bancorp that issue this vanilla card.

I am VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS CARD. I was very eager to buy something online, only to have that thought crushed, because this card WILL NOT WORK ONLINE. DO NOT BUY, unless you really want to go through all this frustration…

Ok well ive used vanilla MASTER CARD for over 5 years.. and ZERO problems.. this year my sister gives me a vanilla VISA card.. so I go online.. enter in the numbers to validate for online purchases.. ( just like I do mastercard) and it says no card found number is not correct.. attempt it 4 more times.. so off to the local gas station to buy smokes.. see if it works there. The guy says on first go.. nope.. trys again.. YEP!.. so I said hell gimme two he does. all good..

go back online to check balance.. card not valid.

Finally call the number on the website.. OUT OF ORDER!??!?!…
so try the other number on back of card.. and I get my statement back.. its incorrect.. I do a lil math and find out I paid $43 for two packs of smokes. yes $21.75 a pack! woo hoo.. Im a big spender thanks visa vanilla.. you (&@() ups!!!

so now what?? call the number on the site again… out of order.

I have zero problems with vanilla mastercard have bought over 50 cards in last three years.

Get my first visa.. and its CRAAAAAAAAPPPPP!!

so vanilla isnt the scam, visa is. Try their mastercard.. they work, and the phone lines work, and the activation for online purchases also works.

i dont know what everyone else is complaining about but i just bought one yesterday and i didnt have to pay any activation fee at all. i got a 100 dollar gift card and that was how much i paid. then when i went to use it it was 100 dollars on the gift card. i have used it on ebay and amazon.com. so i dont know what the fuss is about maybe yall should read the rules before you buy these things.

I bought the vanilla visa gift card at cvs pharmacy.I have bought many cards before and they activate right away.On dec 17th i bought another one and when they scanned it at the register it said accepted,card will activate in 24 hrs.The card did not activate.I called many times and the card is no good.I called coustomer service,they gave me the run around.The card number on my card does not match the number on my reciept. and the first 4 numbers on my card are not 4315.I have heard that cvs pharmacy corperate is keeping the money you give them and making millions.I am twitting, starting a web page,yelping,ect.Iplan to see an attorney and file a lawsuit against cvs for millions.Note:i also bought amazon gift cards and american express and green dot and none of them will activate.cvs is stealing your money.Also i have an apointment with the justics department,federal crime.

I’m pretty sure I’ve used Vanilla Visa dozens of times over the last few years and I’ve NEVER had any problems with it. If you follow the simple instructions and register it on the website, you can hook it to paypal with no problem at all. I just think that people aren’t doing it right or something.
